Atlanta United adds Bobby Boswell in trade with D.C. United

Bobby Boswell will join Atlanta United for the rest of the season.

Atlanta United has added veteran depth for its playoff push by acquiring defender Bobby Boswell from D.C. United.

D.C., which has the lowest point total in MLS this season, will get a third-round draft pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft in exchange.

The 34-year-old Boswell has 360 starts in 365 career appearances with D.C. United and Houston Dynamo. He has missed the MLS Cup playoffs only once in 12 seasons.

Tottenham's Anton Walkes extends loan at Atlanta United

A feisty, and somewhat bizarre match saw Atlanta reverse fortunes, while San Jose ended with nine men on the field.

Atlanta United will keep defender Anton Walkes on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season, the MLS club announced on Tuesday.

Walkes, 20, broke into Atlanta's starting XI in June and has started the past five games after sealing a six-month loan from the Premier League side in January.

And rather than bring him back to England ahead of the new season, Tottenham allowed Walkes to see out 2017 in the U.S.

MLS wrap: Whitecaps stun FC Dallas as Sporting KC wins to move top in West

Vancouver downed 10-man FC Dallas, led by a two goal effort by Fredy Montero.

FC Dallas tumbled off the top spot in the Western Conference after being stunned 4-0 at home by the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

Bernie Ibini and Fredy Montero had already put the Whitecaps up 2-0 when Carlos Gruezo was sent off before the hour mark, and Montero soon added his second before Nicolas Mezquida also scored.
