Athletic Bilbao's Inaki Williams reports racist abuse during Espanyol clash

Shaka Hislop believes football clubs have a responsibility to help eliminate racist incidents in stadiums.

Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams has said he was racially abused by fans during his team's 1-1 draw at Espanyol in La Liga on Saturday.

Williams, 25, had been substituted in the 69th minute and was walking behind one of the goals at the RCDE Stadium, where Espanyol's hardcore 'ultra' fans are located, when the incident happened.

"I leave here feeling sad because of the draw and because I've been subjected to racist insults," Williams said after the game. "It's something that no black player,...

Sevilla dominated the remainder of the first half and twice came close to levelling, with Ever...

Real's top scorer Karim Benzema had a shot cleared off the line in a lively first half while Toni Kroos came within inches of scoring when he waltzed through the defence and hammered a shot which Athletic keeper Unai Simon deflected on to the bar.

Substitute Nacho Fernandez rattled the bar in the second...

Joaquin broke a record held by the late Alfredo di Stefano with his hat trick against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Real Betis captain Joaquin became the oldest player to score a hat trick in La Liga history on Sunday, scoring three times in the opening 20 minutes as his side went on to defeat Athletic Bilbao 3-1.

The 38-year-old midfielder struck just two minutes in, then again in the 11th and 20th minutes to give the home team a commanding lead, with Inaki Williams' penalty on the stroke of half-time proving nothing more than a consolation for the visitors.

Prior to Sunday, Spaniard Joaquin -- who is in...
