Aymeric Laporte could reject Barcelona to stay at Athletic Bilbao

The ESPN FC crew discuss Barcelona's underwhelming 2-0 victory over Levante.
Luis Enrique is not concerned with personal milestones unless they lead to trophies for Barcelona.
Luis Enrique believes Barcelona has not reached the level they did at the end of last season, despite being in first place.

Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte says he could envisage himself turning down an approach from Barcelona.

Laporte, 21, has often been linked with Barca and the four-year contract he signed last summer is reported to contain a release clause of €50 million.

Villarreal eked out a point from a dismal goalless draw at Athletic Bilbao to maintain their challenge for a top-four finish in La Liga.

In a techy stop-start encounter referee Mario Melero brandished 12 yellow cards and two red as both sides saw out the game with 10 men following the late dismissals of Athletic striker Inaki Williams and Villarreal substitute Daniele Bonera.

The point keeps Villarreal in fourth place, while Athletic remain sixth and stay on course for Europa League football next season.

The hosts also had defender Juan Cala sent off in stoppage time for a second booking and lose their first league game at home in exactly three months.

Aymeric Laporte has stressed that he sees his international future with France.

Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has stressed that he wants to play international football for France despite being eligible to represent Spain.

Laporte, who was born in Agen and has represented France at youth level, has yet to win a senior cap -- and that means he could still play for Vicente del Bosque's side.

After an interview on Onda Vasca radio in which he appeared to suggest he may keep his options open, the 21-year-old clarified his position on Twitter.

He wrote: "I would like to...
