Atalanta and Empoli shared the spoils from a disappointing goalless draw at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

Neither side could trouble the scoreboard in rainy Bergamo, with both clubs left frustrated in their quests to secure overdue Serie A wins.

Atalanta edged the first half, with Alejandro Gomez blasting over the bar and Mauricio Pinilla shooting wide from a one-on-one with Lukazs Skorupski.

Empoli hit a post through Riccardo Saponara when play resumed, but Atalanta soon picked up their assault...

Andrea Conti put the visitors ahead but Luca Siligardi equalised just before the break. Boukary Drame was sent off for a second bookable offence before Giampaolo Pazzini popped up to score the winner in 83rd minute to give Verona a morale-boosting win at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Verona began brightly and had a goal disallowed early after referee Marco Di Bello ruled that...

German Denis ensured Atalanta earned a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo at the Azzurri d'Italia.

Domenico Berardi put the visitors in front but the Argentinian forward equalised after his initial spot-kick was saved by Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

La Dea, who were looking for their first win in seven games, saw Rafael Toloi hobble off through injury with Alessandro Diamanti replacing him.

Things went from bad to worse as Berardi tapped in his fourth of the season to give Eusebio Di Francesco's men...

Marco Borriello has called time on his short stay with Carpi by joining their Serie A rivals Atalanta.

The 33-year-old former AC Milan and West Ham striker signed for promoted Carpi in the summer and scored four league goals in 12 appearances.

But a move to Bergamo has tempted the seven-cap Italy international away and, after he passed a medical on Thursday morning, his transfer was confirmed on Atalanta's official website.

A match between two teams unable to buy a win finished in fitting fashion as struggling Frosinone and Atalanta played out a goalless draw on Saturday.

Frosinone are now without a win in seven matches, five points adrift of safety, while Atalanta have not won in six as they have slid to the lower end of mid-table.

Chances were at a premium, with Frosinone's Federico Dionisi blazing wide from close range in the 32nd minute while Nicola Leali twice denied Atalanta's Gaetano Monachello, who was unlucky...
