Fiorentina celebrated a a big win over defending Serie A champs Juventus on Sunday.

Fiorentina put a dent in Juventus' title charge with a 2-1 win at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Nikola Kalinic and Federico Chiesa fired Fiorentina in front with goals in either half and, although Gonzalo Higuain got Juve back into it, the Serie A leaders could not find an equaliser.

Kalinic opened the scoring in the 37th minute when a long ball forward fell to Federico Bernardeschi, who slipped the ball forward to the Croatian down the right channel.

Juventus sign Mattia Caldara for €15m but defender will stay at Atalanta

Mattia Caldara has signed on with Juventus after impressing at Atalanta.

Juventus have signed Mattia Caldara on a five-year contract but the promising Italy under-21 defender will remain with Atalanta until June 2018.

The 22-year-old has agreed a deal running until 2021 with the reigning Serie A champions, with Atalanta both receiving €15 million in return and keeping the player in Bergamo on loan for 18 months.

Two of Serie A's brightest young talents were on full display as Juventus and Fiorentina each advanced to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Paulo Dybala scored one goal and set up another as Juventus beat in-form Atalanta 3-2, while Federico Bernardeschi converted a penalty in stoppage time and hit the crossbar as Fiorentina defeated Chievo Verona 1-0.

Six-time champion Fiorentina's next opponent is Napoli, who beat Serie B side Spezia 3-1 on Tuesday.
