Tottenham crash out of Europa League as Belgian clubs have perfect day

Spurs crash out of the round of 32 after conceding twice at home and going down to ten men after Dele Alli was sent off.

Ten-man Tottenham Hotspur crashed out of the Europa League in the round of 32 after losing 3-2 on aggregate following Thursday's 2-2 second-leg draw against Belgian club Gent at Wembley.

Harry Kane's own goal and Dele Alli's first-half red card were too much to overcome as Mauricio Pochettino's men failed to reach the quarterfinals of the competition for a fourth consecutive campaign.

Edin Dzeko celebrates after scoring Roma's second.
Roma are bidding for a new arena and await word from the city council.

Roma president James Pallotta says a rejection of his club's new stadium plans by the city council would have "catastrophic" consequences for the Giallorossi.

Since then the Tuscan has done little to calm supporters' nerves,...

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti could resign if no deal for Francesco Totti

Luciano Spalletti has said he could walk if Francesco Totti does not get offered another year.

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has said his future at the club will depend on what happens with Francesco Totti in the summer.

Totti, 40, signed a one-year contract extension last June, and Spalletti said he would walk away in protest if the captain was not offered another year on top of that.

"Don't ask me about how well my team is doing, ask me about Totti," he said at a news conference after Roma's weekend win over Torino in which Totti made his 11th appearance of the season.

"It is only right...
