Lyon could land €28m from Anthony Martial move to Man United - Aulas

Lyon could eventually earn a maximum of almost €28 million from the sale of Anthony Martial to Manchester United, according to the French club's president Jean-Michel Aulas.

Martial, 20, moved from Monaco to United last year in a transfer reported to be worth an initial £36m.

The deal also had several performance-related bonus conditions, however, and Lyon also included a 20 percent sell-on clause when they let Martial move to Monaco for €5m in June 2013.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev thinks that Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to win their Champions League group.

The Ligue 1 side were in the fourth pot for Thursday's draw but still avoided Europe's biggest clubs to land with Tottenham, CSKA Moscow and Bayer Leverkusen.

Vasilyev was pleased with Monaco's draw in Group E, comparing it to two years ago when the Ligue 1 side finished ahead of Leverkusen, Zenit St Petersburg and Benfica.

Monaco Champions League progress boosts French football - Vasilyev

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has said he believes it was vital for French football that his side reached the Champions League group stage.

Leonardo Jardim's team secured their place with a 1-0 win over Villarreal at the Stade Louis II on Tuesday as Fabinho's late penalty gave them a 3-1 aggregate victory in the playoff round.
