Valencia sign defender Aymen Abdennour from Monaco

Valencia have signed Aymen Abdennour from Monaco.

Valencia have announced the signing of Tunisia defender Aymen Abdennour, a player who had been linked with Chelsea as their pursuit of John Stones faltered.

Abdennour, 26, signed a five-year contract with Valencia, the club said, and joins from Monaco for an undisclosed fee.

"I chose Valencia CF out of all the offers I received, because it is a big club in Spain and Europe," Abdennour said on the club's website.

Layvin Kurzawa 'really wanted to go to PSG' - Monaco vice-president

Kurzawa came through the youth ranks at Monaco and has represented France.

Layvin Kurzawa is joining Paris Saint-Germain after deciding the time was right to leave Monaco, the principality club's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has said.

Vasilyev, who also backed new signing Fabio Coentrao to "contribute a lot," spoke as 22-year-old Kurzawa was set to complete his move to the Ligue 1 champions this week.

Fabio Coentrao to join Monaco on loan from Real Madrid

Fabio Coentrao had also been strongly linked with Inter Milan this summer.

Monaco have agreed a deal to sign Fabio Coentrao on loan from Real Madrid, the Ligue 1 side have announced.

Monaco were in need of reinforcements at left-back after agreeing to sell Layvin Kurzawa to Paris Saint-Germain and have beaten Inter Milan to the signing of Coentrao.

Monaco's Layvin Kurzawa is joining PSG, Laurent Blanc confirms

Layvin Kurzawa played his final game for Monaco on Tuesday night in the Champions League playoff exit against Valencia.

Layvin Kurzawa will leave Monaco for Paris Saint-Germain, Laurent Blanc has confirmed.

RMC and Nice-Matin reported that Kurzawa, 22, was spotted at Nice airport on Wednesday morning boarding a plane bound for Paris ahead of a €23 million move to PSG.

After rejecting an initial offer of €18m, Monaco reportedly agreed to sell the France international full-back after PSG upped their bid -- and the Ligue 1 champions' coach has welcomed the young defender to the French capital.
