Balotelli joining Arsenal, Lukaku news
Arsenal target Super Mario
Transfer Talk is enormously excited at the prospect of Mario Balotelli returning to the Premier League, so we're choosing to believe the Daily Mail's story that Arsenal are targeting the striker.
Balotelli is set to lead the line for Italy against England on Saturday, but endured a difficult season at AC Milan, scoring 14 goals in 30 Serie A matches.
Rumours that the 23-year-old is unsettled at the San Siro have refused to disappear, and Sky Sport Italia pundit Mario Giunta says the Gunners are now prepared to step in, adding that Arsene Wenger "would do anything to bring him to London."
It looks like Arsenal could be given a helping hand too, with the club's new kit manufacturer, Puma, keen to make the most of its sponsorship deal with Balotelli.
"This operation could be pushed forward by the technical sponsor, who Balotelli shares with Arsenal," Giunta continued. "To have Balotelli in the Premier League for Arsenal would be an important investment."
It would also provide fantastic entertainment.
Reina in no man's land
Poor Pepe Reina. Liverpool don't want him, but Napoli aren't prepared to cough up the cash to make the goalkeeper's loan deal permanent.
Reina has returned to Anfield following a year in Serie A, but Brendan Rodgers' interest in Michel Vorm has made it clear that the Spaniard is no longer required.
The Daily Mail says Napoli are refusing to budge over the personal terms on offer, with Liverpool weighing up whether to subsidise Reina's wages to get him off the books.
Lukaku turns down West Ham
This one can probably be filed under "optimistic" after West Ham tried and failed to sign Romelu Lukaku for the second summer in a row.
The Mirror exclusively reveals that the Belgian has turned down the Hammers as he searches for a club that can offer Champions League football.
It isn't clear whether Sam Allardyce was keen on a loan move or a permanent transfer, but one thing that is certain is that Lukaku won't be turning out at Upton Park next season.
Gaitan heading to Manchester?
Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan has admitted he's willing to leave Benfica this summer if it helps the club ease their worrying financial problems.
The tricky winger has been linked to the Old Trafford outfit for around 18 months, while The Mirror claims he has also caught the eye of Tottenham and Liverpool.
"At the moment I am totally focused on playing for Benfica since I have a contract with them," said Gaitan. "But I wouldn't mind playing in a different league and, more importantly, to put the club first to help with their serious problems."
- Leicester are hoping to strengthen their attacking options with an 8 million-pound move for Graziano Pelle, says the Daily Mail. The dashing Feyenoord forward hit 23 goals in 28 Eredivisie matches this season and has also attracted interest from West Brom, Stoke and Everton.
- Manchester United could face competition from Everton for Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi. The 22-year-old was reportedly watched by Roberto Martinez on Wednesday as the Toffees boss paid a visit to the Netherlands' training camp.
- Nani is heading toward the Old Trafford exit door less than 12 months after signing a new five-year deal, reports the Daily Star. Juventus, Inter Milan and Benfica are all chasing the winger, although Transfer Talk was led to believe that the Portuguese champions were struggling with financial problems. Now we don't know what to think.
