England's Jordan Nobbs set to miss Women's World Cup after ACL tear

LONDON -- England could be without one of its key players for the Women's World Cup next year after playmaker Jordan Nobbs ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.

Nobbs, England's player of the year in 2016, was injured while playing for Arsenal against Everton in the Women's Super League on Sunday.

Ramona Bachmann scored twice and Fran Kirby netted a fine individual effort as Chelsea Ladies beat Arsenal Women 3-1 to win the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Arsenal Ladies beat Manchester City to claim WSL Cup

Arsenal took home the WSL Cup after beating Man City on Wednesday night.

Vivianne Miedema struck the only goal of the game in the 32nd minute as Arsenal Ladies upset favourites Manchester City Women to win the WSL Cup.

Dutch international Miedema supplied a low finish after a deep Dominique Janssen cross was flicked into her path, to put the Gunners in control at Adams Park.

And despite piling on the pressure in a one-sided second half, City failed to grab the goal they needed to deny the Gunners their fifth WSL Cup triumph in seven years.

Ex-U.S. star Heather O'Reilly heads six new female signings to Common Goal

Juan Mata spoke about the Common Goal initiative which sees players donate one percent of their wages to charity.

Former United States international and Arsenal's three-time Olympic champion Heather O'Reilly is among six female players from five countries to sign up for Juan Mata's Common Goal campaign, the charity has announced.
