Coach at 2.Bundesliga strugglers Arminia Bielefeld gives rousing speech

Wallowing in the 2.Bundesliga relegation zone going into their penultimate match of the season, Arminia Bielefeld knew they required a huge result against high-flying Eintracht Braunschweig if they were going to haul themselves out of the mire.

Thankfully, assistant coach Carsten Rump was on hand to deliver a truly immense motivational team talk before kick-off.

Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal postponed by snow; Eintracht advance

Danny Blum's early goal was enough for Frankfurt to advance to the DFB Pokal semi-finals with a 1-0 victory over Bielefeld.
Play could not proceed in Lotte on Tuesday night.

Borussia Dortmund's DFB Pokal quarterfinal match at Sportfreunde Lotte scheduled for Wednesday was postponed less than an hour before kickoff because of snow.

The teams had already announced their lineups and were preparing to play when the game was called off, with referee Felix Brych citing safety issues. Hours before, Dortmund's team bus got stuck at the stadium and had to be freed by a tractor.

Bayern edge Wolfsburg to reach Pokal quarters; Bobby Wood lifts Hamburg

German DFB Pokal: Douglas Costa (17') Bayern Munich 1-0 VfL Wolfsburg

A first-half strike from Douglas Costa was enough for holders Bayern Munich to edge Wolfsburg 1-0 at home and scrape into the DFB Pokal quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Costa scored with a deflected shot in the 18th minute, but Bayern failed to build on their greater possession and were made to suffer late on as Wolfsburg grew in confidence.

Yunus Malli should have equalised with less than 10 minutes remaining, but Manuel Neuer denied his solo effort and the Bayern goalkeeper was called into action...

Wolfsburg secure DFB Pokal final spot over proud Arminia Bielefeld

BIELEFELD -- A brace from Maximilian Arnold, and one each by Ivan Perisic and Luiz Gustavo secured VfL Wolfsburg a ticket to the DFB Pokal final for the meeting with Borussia Dortmund at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on May 30. Third-league leaders Arminia Bielefeld gave it their all, but still lost 4-0. But the supporters celebrated their heroes regardless.
