Leaders Arbroath maintained their promotion push as they thrashed Clyde 4-0 at Gayfield Park.

Paul McManus gave them an early lead from the penalty spot after 16 minutes before Simon Murray fired home a second moments afterwards.

The visitors struggled to recover from the quick-fire double and only Stephen O'Donnell could offer a reply, firing wide from distance.

Victory was all but ensured three minutes before the break when Robert Linn added a third with a fine strike into the top corner.

A late goal from John Gemmell made it consecutive losses for leaders Arbroath as they went down 2-1 at Albion.

Marc McKenzie gave Albion an early lead when he slotted in from Mark McGuigan's cross after just 10 minutes.

That sparked the visitors into action and after Adam Hunter wasted a good chance, Scott McBride drew them level with a free-kick curled into the top corner.

Kieran Stewart and Paul McManus were wasteful in front of goal and were made to pay for the profligacy when Gemmell scored with...

Queen's Park extended their unbeaten run to seven matches as they beat league leaders Arbroath 2-1 at Gayfield Park.

Gus MacPherson's side have now won their last five consecutive matches. Goals from Shaun Fraser and Kevin Fotheringham gave the visitors a comfortable lead before Paul McManus pulled one back for the Red Lichties.

Queen's Park were ahead inside two minutes when Shaun Rooney found Fraser in space inside the box and he slotted past Arbroath's Scott Morrison.

A first-half penalty from Paul McManus and a Scott McBride strike gave Arbroath a 2-1 win over Nairn County in the Scottish Cup.

Arbroath eased into the fourth round and McManus set them on their way in the 22nd minute after Simon Murray was felled inside the area by Wayne Mackintosh.

McManus found the bottom-left corner with the resulting spot-kick as the home team controlled the game, and they could have been further ahead but for the excellent Calum Antell in the Nairn goal.

Arbroath goalkeeper David Crawford scored a free-kick as they thrashed 10-man Montrose 5-1 in Scottish League Two.

The visitors took the lead after 17 minutes when striker Simon Murray finished from close range after being teed up by Robert Linn.
