Arbroath's 100 per cent start to the Scottish League Two season was ended as East Fife triumphed 2-0 at Gayfield Park.

Gary Naysmith's Fifers successfully frustrated their high-flying opponents in the first half before striking twice in six second-half minutes.

The visitors went in front after 51 minutes when Nathan Austin centred the ball for Allan Walker to convert from close range.

The Red Lichties had barely come to terms with the blow when the visitors doubled their advantage, former Leeds United...

Arbroath continued their perfect start to the season as they convincingly overcame close neighbours Montrose 3-1.

The hosts, who top the table with four wins out of four this season, started strongly and were soon ahead when Bobby Linn got on the end of a Paul McManus ball to slot the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.

Arbroath doubled their advantage eight minutes later as Kevin Buchan slotted home Scott McBride's cross.

Although goalkeeper David Crawford had to be substituted after a collision...

Arbroath top the Scottish League Two table after beating Queen's Park 2-0, making it a perfect start to the season for Allan Moore's men.

They lead the way having won each of their first three games, Scott McBride putting them ahead midway through the second half before setting up substitute Jack Smith to confirm victory in added time.

For Queen's Park it was another disappointing afternoon at home, having also lost there on the opening day. They lacked punch from the start although Darren Miller...

Arbroath rubber-stamped their status as early pace-setters in Scottish League Two with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visitors Albion.

However the Red Lichties had to come through a tough battle at Gayfield Park, and it was not until midway through the second half that they made the breakthrough.

Mark Whatley was the architect of the only goal, angling a pass into the penalty area for Paul McManus to shoot right-footed into the bottom right corner and leave Neil Parry with little chance of saving the...

Berwick were made to rue a string of missed chances as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Arbroath on the opening day of the League Two season.

Paul Willis had put them in front six minutes in after Arbroath keeper David Crawford could only direct his clearance straight into the striker's path.

Scott Dalziel came within whiskers of doubling the lead but his shot cannoned back off the crossbar.

Crawford made sure his side went into the break only a goal behind when he did well to save a Willis shot.
