Arbroath stretched their lead at the top of Scottish League Two to five points after a comfortable 2-0 win against mid-table Berwick.

The hosts took the lead after 28 minutes when Simon Murray finished from close range for his 10th league goal of the season.

At the other end Rangers midfielder Paul Willis forced goalkeeper Marc McCallum into a smart stop just before the break with a fizzing long-range effort.

Arbroath however extended their lead after 53 minutes when Robert Linn found the top corner...

Paul McManus bagged a brace as league leaders Arbroath saw off a spirited East Stirling 3-2 at Ochilview Park.

The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes when Simon Murray fired in a neat finish from a tight angle.

The Shire came close to an immediate equaliser but Marc McCallum produced a fine save to push Conor Greene's header over the crossbar.

But they did draw level 10 minutes after the restart when David McKenna prodded home following some good work by Martin Shield.

Arbroath maintained their three-point lead at the top of the table but were made to sweat in a 3-2 win against Annan.

Two goals in three second-half minutes from Jack Smith and Dylan Carreiro added to Robert Linn's opener and appeared to make the game safe but the visitors rallied late on.

Linn opened the scoring in the 15th minute when his cross-cum-shot sailed straight over Alex Mitchell.

Eleven minutes into the second half Smith took advantage of Steven Black's misjudgement of a long ball to slot...

Rock-bottom Elgin came from behind to sentence table-topping Arbroath to their first draw of the entire campaign as the sides played out a 1-1 stalemate.

Things looked rosy for the leaders when Simon Murray struck once more.

Murray, who had scored five goals in his last two games and hit a hat-trick on Saturday, picked up where he left off with a 33rd-minute strike after being teed up by Adam Hunter.

Just a minute late the hosts should have been level only for Graeme Beveridge's right-footed effort...

Simon Murray grabbed a hat-trick as Arbroath ended Boness United's cup dream with an emphatic 5-0 win.

The East Region Junior side held out for 28 minutes before Murray's close-range finish broke the deadlock.

And the League Two leaders waited until the 68th minute to grab four goals in just eight minutes to add some gloss to the scoreline.

First Paul McManus netted from six yards out and seconds later Murray grabbed his second after being teed up by Kevin Nicoll.

Murray then grabbed his third of the...
