Ajax boss Frank de Boer has warned his side APOEL will prove tough opponents in Tuesday's Champions League clash in Nicosia.

Barcelona's Gerard Pique scored the lone goal on a set-piece header in a 1-0 victory over Apoel Nicosia.

Barcelona achieved a narrow 1-0 win against Apoel Nicosia at the Camp Nou in round 1 of Group H of the Champions League. Gerard Pique scored the only goal for the Blaugrana, who enjoyed 73 percent of possession, created 15 goal-scoring chances and attempted 10 shots, five of them on target.

Barcelona's Gerard Pique scored the lone goal on a set-piece header in a 1-0 victory over Apoel Nicosia.

Barcelona captain Xavi Hernandez said his team were far from their sparkling best in Wednesday's Champions League 1-0 Group F opener win over APOEL at the Camp Nou.

Barca went ahead midway through the first half when Gerard Pique headed in Lionel Messi's free kick, but an expected rush of goals did not materialise.
