Youri Tielemans: No contact with Manchester United's Jose Mourinho

ESPN FC's Ross Dyer and Craig Burley evaluate Wayne Rooney's status at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho.

Anderlecht playmaker Youri Tielemans has denied that he received a call from Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

Despite only turning 19 in May, Tielemans is entering his fourth season as a regular starter in Anderlecht's midfield.

The Belgium under-21 international has often been tipped for a big-money transfer but on Wednesday, ahead of his club's Europa League tie against Slavia Prague, he dismissed a claim that he had already had a conversation with the new United boss.

Steven Defour completes Burnley move for club-record fee

It was not a happy homecoming for Anderlecht's Steven Defour in his return to Standard Liege.
Steven Defour is reportedly set to join Burnley from Anderlecht this week.

Burnley have confirmed the signing of Belgium international midfielder Steven Defour on a three-year contract for a club record fee.

Defour, 28, says he turned down a new contract offer from Anderlecht and a better financial deal from the Middle East in order to join the Clarets.

Some reports in the Belgian media had tipped the tough-tackling midfielder to accept a more lucrative offer from Al-Jazira in the United Arab Emirates.

He told Burnley's official website: "When I knew that Burnley...

Steven Defour set to undergo Burnley medical ahead of transfer - sources

Sean Dyche feels Burnley deserved at least a point, but that's the reality of the Premier League.
The ESPN FC crew have their say on which three sides drop out of the Premier League after this season.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche says his side belong in the Premier League, even if they can't compete with high transfer fees.

Steven Defour has travelled to England to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Burnley, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Anderlecht announced last week that they had agreed a deal in the region of £7.5 million with the Premier League new boys for the midfielder who is expected to sign a four-year deal and could make his debut against Liverpool next weekend.

Defour has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past with Sir Alex Ferguson writing him a letter to confirming...

UCL: Shakhtar, Olympiakos, Fener out as Celtic and Monaco reach playoff

ESPN FC's Craig Burley and Paul Mariner think Carlo Ancelotti's UCL pedigree could make them favourites to win the tournament.

Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce all crashed out of the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round on Wednesday, while Monaco, Ajax and Celtic got through to the playoff round.

Shakhtar will return to the Europa League this season, having reached the semifinals of the competition last campaign.

Yuya Kubo scored twice in a seven-minute span for Young Boys early in the second half to level the tie 2-2 on aggregate, before both Fred and Yaroslav Rakitskiy misfired in the shootout...

Steven Defour wants Anderlect exit after fan insults - agent

Steven Defour is said to be unhappy at Anderlecht, with Southampton and Al-Arabi both linked.

Anderlecht captain Steven Defour could leave Belgium due to the abuse he has received from a minority of the club's fans, according to his agent.

Defour, 28, won two league titles with Anderlecht's major rivals, Standard Liege, before leaving for Porto in 2011.

The central midfielder joined Anderlecht in 2014 and on his first visit to Liege as an opposition player he was sent off after reacting to taunts from home supporters and a gruesome tifo that featured a caption reading "Red or Dead."
