Alloa midfielder Iain Flannigan is the only confirmed absentee against Falkirk due to a back injury but Jonathan Tiffoney and Stephen Simmons will also miss out if they do not fully overcome knocks.

The Wasps are able to call on fit-again pair of Graeme Holmes and Grieg Spence, with manager Barry Smith saying: "The players did really well to earn a point against Rangers last week but they can't sit back and think about that game. All their focus has to be on Falkirk.

Rangers failed miserably to put pressure on Championship leaders Hearts as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Alloa at Ibrox.

Kris Boyd and David Templeton missed great chances for the Light Blues in an otherwise limp first-half which ended with the home side being booed off.

Ally McCoist's side continued to struggle after the break but it looked like they would escape with three points when skipper Lee McCulloch scored in the 78th minute following a Lewis Macleod corner.

However, Liam Buchanan dramatically...

Mark Docherty's double helped Alloa ease past Ayr into the fourth round of the Scottish Cup with a 4-0 win in the replay.

It was 1-1 in the original third-round match, with Alloa's Liam Buchanan and Ayr's Ryan Donnelly netting, and Buchanan struck first in this tie after 24 minutes.

After an even start to the match, the home side's forward found space in the box and slotted past David Hutton for his eighth goal in 18 appearances.

Daryll Meggatt doubled their lead four minutes later when he headed home...

Liam Buchanan netted his fifth goal of the season to help Alloa climb into seventh in the Scottish Championship after a 1-0 win over 10-man Livingston.

The 29-year-old's goal came just three minutes after the interval, ending the Wasps' seven-game winless league run.

Struggling Livi finished the game a man down following Declan Gallagher's red card for dissent deep into stoppage time as John McGlynn's side slipped further into the Championship mire.

The visitors did have chances to claw something from...

Two goals in five first-half minutes at Somerset Park meant Ayr and Alloa will do battle again in a replay after a 1-1 draw in the Scottish Cup.

Alloa, looking for a first win in seven, took the lead after half an hour when Graeme Holmes' cross-field ball found Liam Buchanan, who smashed the ball home from a tight angle.

The lead was short-lived, though, as a Jon-Paul McGovern corner found Ryan Donnelly five minutes later and the striker flicked the ball into the far corner.

Ayr looked the more likely...
