Albion went top of Scottish League Two after a 2-0 win away to Montrose.

Their task was made somewhat simpler, however, when Montrose goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie was dismissed after just four minutes, meaning they had to play the remainder of the match with just 10 men.

Midfielder Stephen Day was withdrawn as John McCafferty took McKenzie's place between the sticks.

It was always going to be an uphill struggle from there, and Albion took advantage of the extra man and found the lead on the half-hour...

Albion continued their fine start to the season with a 1-0 win over Queen's Park .

The visitors dominated possession but could not make it tell with Ross McPherson going closest with a clever lob.

With 10 minutes remaining, Mark McKenzie expertly curled the ball into the top corner leaving William Muir no chance.

Queen's Park piled forward in an attempt to find an equaliser but ultimately came up short.

Albion therefore maintained their 100 per cent home record, while defeat dropped Gus McPherson's...

Albion ensured their 100% start to the season at home continued with a 2-0 victory against winless East Fife.

The hosts took the lead just after 20 minutes when Jamie Pollock punished East Fife for some poor defending before John Gemmell doubled the Wee Rovers' advantage on the stroke of half-time, heading home Kyle Turnbull's corner.

The break did little to stem Albion's flow and Fifers' striker Jon McShane almost put through his own net before seeing the ball come back of the post.

Gemmell wasted...

Stranraer had to survive a late comeback from League Two Albion as they registered a 2-1 win in the second round of the Petrofac Training Challenge Cup.

Striker Craig Malcolm headed the hosts in front from a lovely inswinging corner from Chris Aitken.

Rovers increased their lead when another whipped Aitken delivery was not dealt with and Scott Rumsby met it first for 2-0.

Forward John Gemmell pulled one back for Albion from the penalty spot after being brought down by defender Frank McKeown in the...

Arbroath rubber-stamped their status as early pace-setters in Scottish League Two with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visitors Albion.

However the Red Lichties had to come through a tough battle at Gayfield Park, and it was not until midway through the second half that they made the breakthrough.

Mark Whatley was the architect of the only goal, angling a pass into the penalty area for Paul McManus to shoot right-footed into the bottom right corner and leave Neil Parry with little chance of saving the...
