Brechin City lost their fifth consecutive league game of the season after going down 3-1 at Albion Rovers.

Ross Dunlop, John Gemmell and Andy Barrowman were all on target for the hosts.

Albion took the lead after 23 minutes through Dunlop but Brechin had the chance to equalise straight away when Andrew Jackson was fouled in the box.

Craig Johnston converted the penalty before Albion were awarded a spot-kick of their own. Paul Willis was fouled in the area and Gemmell stepped up to put his side 2-1...

Cowdenbeath had to work hard for their 1-0 win at home to Albion, even though the solitary goal came early.

The Miners hit the front inside two minutes when Greig Spence scored with his first goal for the club, firing into the corner from six yards with his left foot.

It looked as if an entertaining match lay in prospect, but the remaining 88 minutes were cagey and fractured by fouls and bookings as neither side did enough to break the other down.

The home side's Sam Orritt tested Ross Stewart in the...

Kevin Nicoll's first Forfar goal set his side on their way to a 4-0 win over former club Albion.

Both had won their opening games but it was Forfar who remained unbeaten thanks to Nicoll, Danny Denholm and substitute Kerr Hay's late double.

Gavin Swankie had an early effort for Forfar saved by Ross Stewart, with the keeper also on hand to stop Bryan Hodge.

Rob Douglas denied Paul Willis at the other end while Alistair Love twice went close for the visitors.

It was Forfar who opened the scoring, though,...

Albion began life in Scottish League One with an easy 3-0 win over Ayr.

The Wee Rovers, who won the League Two title last season, needed less than two minutes to go in front as Ross Davidson converted Josh Mullin's cross.

It was complete home dominance in the opening 45 minutes and Alastair Love could have doubled their lead but brought an impressive save out of Greg Fleming in the Ayr net.

But Love was not to be denied on the stroke of half-time as he headed home another Mullin cross.

Love put the icing...

New boss Ray McKinnon made it two wins in as many games as Raith beat Albion 3-0 in the first round of the Scottish League Cup.

It was Albion's first trip to Kirkcaldy in 11 years, but it did not start well, as Lewis Vaughan put the home side ahead after 16 minutes, coolly converting a penalty after Ross Callachan was fouled.

Gary Fisher had a good opportunity to level things up for Darren Young's men, but his shot lacked power and goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert made a comfortable save.

The Scottish Championship...
