Albion gave their flagging promotion hopes a boost as they secured their first league win in five matches with a 2-0 success at Berwick.

The visitors had lost their four previous league games to fall of the pace at the top, but bounced back with goals in each half from defender Ross Dunlop and striker Mark McGuigan.

Dunlop headed home midfielder Alistair Love's cross to give the visitors a 33rd-minute lead, yet the Borderers paid the price for several glaring misses.

East Stirling moved off the bottom of the Scottish League Two table with a 1-0 win away to title hopefuls Albion Rovers.

Stirling had a positive opening to the game, following their 1-0 victory against Elgin City last weekend, as David Greenhill fired wide.

However, Rovers were soon taking control, especially with Alistair Love enjoying three efforts in the first half.

It was goalless at the break though Stirling goalkeeper Richard Barnard nearly gifted Rovers the lead after 53 minutes when he fumbled...

Albion lost their second game in the space of the week after going down 2-0 to Clyde at the Cliftonhill Stadium.

The visitors took the lead after 14 minutes when midfielder Steven McDougall headed in Stephen O'Donnell's pinpoint cross into the bottom corner.

Albion almost hit back through midfielder Gary Phillips six minutes later but his effort from inside the penalty area sailed over the crossbar.

However, it was Clyde who added a second after Scott Ferguson tapped in striker Keigan Parker's cross...

Albion dropped points for the second straight game and missed out on the chance to move top of League Two again courtesy of a 3-2 defeat to East Fife.

Rovers, who originally missed the chance to reach the summit when losing to Elgin over the weekend, were undone by a Kevin Smith brace, which came either side of Nathan Austin's effort, with three goals coming in the final 10 minutes of a breathless encounter.

Knowing they only needed a point to move into pole position, Albion started brightly with John...

Montrose missed the chance to go top of the table as they were beaten 2-0 at Elgin.

The hosts had not won at home since August but goals from Dennis Wyness and Shane Sutherland secured a fourth win in five outings for Jim Weir's improving side.

With Arbroath's game postponed, Rovers could have gone top but fell behind six minutes before the break when Wyness turned in Archie MacPhee's cross.

Elgin goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw was called on to save from Scott Chaplain before City missed a glorious chance...
