Sylvain Distin made 13 Premier League appearances last season.

Bournemouth have announced the signing of veteran defender Sylvain Distin on a one-year contract.

Distin, 37, joins the newly promoted Premier League side after his contract at Everton expired, bringing an end to a six-year stay at Goodison Park.

The centre-back made over 200 appearances for Everton after joining the club from Portsmouth, having previously played for the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Tyrone Mings had been tracked by Arsenal, but moved to the south coast.

Selling Tyrone Mings to Bournemouth was great business for Championship side Ipswich, according to their manager Mick McCarthy.

Mings, 22, signed for Ipswich in 2013 for £10,000 but was sold to newly promoted Bournemouth last week for a reported fee of £8 million.

The left-back's move to the Premier League also saw two players from Bournemouth head to Portman Road: Brett Pitman signed a three-year deal and Ryan Fraser joined on a season-long loan.

Bournemouth complete move for Ipswich Town star Tyrone Mings

Mings was playing non-league football less than three years ago.

Bournemouth have wrapped up the signing of Ipswich defender Tyrone Mings for a reported fee of around £8 million.

On Thursday, news broke that the Premier League debutants had agreed a fee with Ipswich for the 22-year-old full-back.

The highly-rated Mings joined the East Anglians from non-league Chippenham Town for just £10,000 less than three years ago.

Bournemouth sign Christian Atsu on season loan from Chelsea

Chelsea's Christian Atsu spent time on loan at Everton last season but will now move to Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have signed Christian Atsu on a season-long loan from Chelsea as they step up their Premier League preparations.

The 23-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from Porto in September 2013 and has been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem and, most recently, Everton.

A deal has now been struck that will see Atsu continue his development at the Goldsands Stadium next season, subject to Premier League approval.
