Bruce Djite's South Korea move puts Adelaide on the lookout for a striker

Bruce Djite is set for a medical at K-League side Suwon FC.

Adelaide United have joined a host of A-League clubs on the hunt for a new line-leading striker with Bruce Djite set for an imminent transfer to South Korea.

Djite, 29, need only pass a medical on Tuesday to seal a shock move to K-League side Suwon FC.

"Sad to see him go but success breeds opportunities. Club actively pursuing all options," tweeted Adelaide CEO Grant Mayer.

Djite would become the fourth player from Adelaide's victorious A-League Grand Final side to leave the club during the offseason,...

A-League salary cap 'diminished' by new rules - Adelaide's Greg Griffin

Greg Griffin
Greg Griffin wants to ensure that the A-League remains an even playing field.

Adelaide United chairman Greg Griffin has warned Football Federation Australia against loosening the A-League salary cap to accommodate Tim Cahill, while Ernie Merrick reckons it should be scrapped altogether.

As the wait continues for official confirmation of Cahill's high-profile move to Melbourne City, Griffin has revealed his reticence towards the deal, saying FFA shouldn't be bending the rules or contributing any money to A-League signings.

"My personal view is if you don't fit in, you don't...

NEC Nijmegen sign Stefan Mauk from Adelaide United

Stefan Mauk
Stefan Mauk, 20, helped Adelaide to an unprecedented A-League double after joining them in January 2016.

Adelaide United attacking midfielder Stefan Mauk has signed for Dutch football club NEC Nijmegen.

The 20-year-old played 13 A-League matches for the Reds since joining Guillermo Amor's championship-winning side in January, claiming the club's Rising Star award in the process.

That form has earned the former Melbourne City man a move to the Eredivisie, where NEC finished 10th last season.

"My aim was always to try and get over to Europe, ever since I was a little kid," Mauk said in a statement.

"To...

Former Adelaide boss Josep Gombau appointed Australia under-23 coach

Josep Gombau
Former Adelaide United coach Josep Gombau has been named as the new Olyroos manager.

Spaniard Josep Gombau says the challenge of rejuvenating Australia's youth football and a symmetry in style with Ange Postecoglou lured him to the Olyroos' coaching job.

Gombau on Tuesday was announced as Australian men's under-23 coach, replacing Aurelio Vidmar who was axed after the Olyroos failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics.

Almost a year after Gombau suddenly quit as Adelaide United's coach after two seasons at the helm of the A-League club, the 40-year-old has been given a four-year contract...

Bruce Djite targets consecutive A-League titles with Adelaide United

Adelaide United striker Bruce Djite
Adelaide United striker Bruce Djite is ready to defend their A-League title when the season starts in October.

Adelaide United must embrace being the hunted, not the hunter, when they seek to defend their A-League championship, striker Bruce Djite says.

The Reds regathered on Monday for the start of preseason training with Djite certain they will have to improve to become the first club to win consecutive championships.

"If we stay the same, then everyone else will probably improve," Djite told reporters.

"It's different being the hunter and not the hunted."

Djite said United would have a collective target...
