Adelaide United beat Western Sydney Wanderers to keep pressure on

Bruce Djite and Marcelo Carrusca celebrate Adelaide United's victory.

Adelaide United kept up the heat on the leading two in the A-League with a 2-0 home win over 10-man Western Sydney Wanderers.

The game swung in the hosts' favour when Nikolai Topor-Stanley was sent off after only 17 minutes.

Marcelo Carrusca put Adelaide in front after 36 minutes and Fabio Ferreira added a second 10 minutes after the break to seal the win.

Victory moved Adelaide a point behind second-placed Melbourne Victory and two behind leaders Perth Glory.
