Ten-man Bury held on to secure a 2-1 home victory against Accrington.

The visitors had the better of the first half and led through Kal Naismith's 19th-minute strike. But Stanley were made to pay for not taking their chances as Danny Rose equalised 10 minutes before half-time and Danny Mayor gave the Shakers a 62nd-minute lead.

Bury captain Jim McNulty was sent off after 71 minutes but Gary Flitcroft's side stood firm to secure their first back-to-back wins of the season.

Accrington squandered a two-goal lead but still secured their first point of the new campaign in a 2-2 draw with Luton.

The Reds, bottom of Sky Bet League Two the start of play, opened the scoring on nine minutes when Piero Mingoia raced down the left flank and played in a cross for James Gray to fire in.

And it was two on 16 minutes when a Mingoia corner was only half cleared to Luke Joyce and, when the captain headed goalwards, the ball bounced off the post, hit keeper Mark Tyler and dropped in....

Shrewsbury had few problems notching a third successive home win as they cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over early-season strugglers Accrington.

The visitors might have taken a shock early lead when Will Hatfield fired wide, but they were quickly behind when goalkeeper Luke Simpson's attempted clearance struck Shrews striker Andy Mangan and rebounded in.

It set the tone for Micky Mellon's side to totally dominate but they had to wait until the 42nd minute to double their advantage.

Koby Arthur struck a late winner as Cheltenham made it back-to-back league wins at the start of the season for the first time in eight years as they saw off Accrington 2-1.

But the Robins were let off the hook deep in injury time when Kal Naismith blew a chance for a second goal of the afternoon when he lifted a penalty high over the crossbar.

The Robins dominated early on with captain Matt Taylor having a header cleared off the line by Rob Atkinson with the Stanley defender then doing well to blo...

French striker Souleymane Doukara struck two high-quality goals as Leeds condemned League Two opponents Accrington to a 2-1 Capital One Cup first-round exit.

But the win was soured when the hosts had Switzerland right-back Gaetano Berardi sent off for a last-minute touchline scuffle.

Leeds needed a lift after their defeat at Millwall on the opening weekend of the Sky Bet Championship season and Doukara, 22, provided it with his opening goal on 20 minutes.

Doukara, on a season-long loan from Italian...
