Celtic put only two players on PFA Scotland team of the year

Leigh Griffiths is one of only two players from Celtic named to the Premiership team of the year.

Dundee and Aberdeen both have more players in the PFA Scotland team of the year than Celtic.

Only Kieran Tierney and Leigh Griffiths have made the Premiership XI from the defending champions.

Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain joins player-of-the-year candidates Greg Stewart and Kane Hemmings among the Dens Park ranks.

Aberdeen provide the entire three-man midfield through Graeme Shinnie, Jonny Hayes and Kenny McLean plus defender Shay Logan.

The centre-backs come from Hearts (Alim Ozturk) and Ross County...

Aberdeen's ailing Ladbrokes Premiership title hopes were surely put out of their misery by St Johnstone who demolished the Dons 3-0 at McDiarmid Park.

Goals from midfielder David Wotherspoon and striker Steven MacLean gave Saints a well-deserved interval lead with midfielder Liam Craig adding a third in the 55th minute.

The Dons remain eight points behind leaders Celtic and their hapless performance was a perfect leaving present for Hoops boss Ronny Deila, who declared on Wednesday he is departing...

Hearts climbed off their sick beds to deliver a potentially fatal blow to Aberdeen's Ladbrokes Premiership title hopes as Juanma Delgado's double earned the hosts a 2-1 victory at Tynecastle.

Hearts shut their training ground for two days after getting Tuesday's trip Inverness postponed following an outbreak of gastroenteritis and they looked set to suffer more pain when Simon Church netted inside three minutes during a dominant opening from the visitors.

But Juanma twice scored from close range to...

Aberdeen kept up the pressure on Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic, with an emphatic 3-0 victory over a lacklustre Hamilton side at Pittodrie.

The Dons raced into a 3-0 lead in the opening 33 minutes, thanks to strikes from Simon Church, Niall McGinn and Kenny McLean.

Though there would be no further goals, the job was already in what, at times, resembled a training game for Derek McInnes' side who move within four points of the Ronny Deila's men at the top.

McLean had already hit the upright...

Motherwell overcame the midweek virus that ran through the club to floor Aberdeen with a second-half fightback and a 2-1 win that deals a severe blow to the Dons' hopes of catching Celtic.

A penalty from Kenny McLean just before half-time put the visitors ahead, as they targeted victory away from Pittodrie in a game Motherwell almost asked to be postponed due to a host of players suffering sickness in midweek.

However, goals from Scott McDonald and Louis Moult and a red card for Aberdeen's Barry Robson...
