Cedric Bakambu's first CSL goal earns victory for Beijing Guoan

Cedric Bakambu scored his first Chinese Super League to secure a 2-1 victory for Beijing Guoan over Jiangsu Suning on Sunday.

Bakambu had to wait for his goal to be confirmed after he was initially ruled to have been offside when he latched on to Jonathan Viera's through ball.

But with the video assistant referee confirmed that the former Villarreal forward was onside.

Beijing had taken the lead in the 22nd minute when Wei Shihao -- another new arrival in the transfer window -- lashed a shot from distance into the bottom corner.

Bakambu doubled the advantage against Fabio Capello's side before Ji Xiang whipped home a free kick to give them some hope.

"We have done very well today and I'm happy," coach Roger Schmidt, whose side had lost their opening game against Shandong Luneng, said.

"Compared with last week, we have a brand new feeling. We carefully planned everything for this match and we've done well in defence while also coming up with some nice combinations at the other end.

"Leading 1-0 at the end of the first half was an honest reflection of the match, and our second goal was also very nice.

"We were under some pressure after Jiangsu scored. There was lots of pressure on our box, but we solved all of those issues with the utmost concentration. We deserved the win."

Meanwhile, Ezequiel Lavezzi scored in added time, his second goal of the game, to earn Hebei China Fortune a 3-2 win over Guizhou Hengfeng.

It was a first win of the season for Manuel Pellegrini's side, who drew their opener against Tianjin Teda last week, while Guizhou are still looking for a victory.

In the day's other game, Orlando Sa scored the only goal as Henan Jianye beat Tianjin Teda.
