Alexis Sanchez demands Arturo Vidal puts in extra effort after car crash

Alexis Sanchez has told Arturo Vidal to "bust your a--" after the Chile international crashed his red Ferrari on the outskirts of Santiago while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Juventus midfielder Vidal had his driver's licence confiscated and must report to the Chilean consulate in Milan monthly after the incident occurred while on duty with his nation during the Copa Ameica.

Speaking ahead of Chile's Group A match with Bolivia on Friday, the Arsenal forward said at a news conference: "I told him 'Arturo, you better bust your a--.'

"It's very hard what happened with him but as a group, the least we can do is put up with it as a team.

"There has been indiscipline, we were wrong, you are right about that. But we are a family and we are there to support him."

Sanchez also dismissed any suggestion that Jorge Sampaoli's side were not behind Vidal following the incident.

He added: "I hate it when people say things which are not true.

"All the players were with him. I hope that the people will be with him on Friday, like all his colleagues have been.

"The important thing is that Arturo, his wife and everyone else are well. The case of Arturo should now close and we can concentrate on the Copa America."
