Eden Hazard plays 75 minutes for Chelsea's U23s as rehab continues

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard played 75 minutes with Chelsea's Under-23 side as he continues to rehab from an ankle injury on Friday.

Hazard had missed all of Chelsea's preseason with a broken ankle he sustained on international duty in June.

He has not featured in either of the Blues' first two Premier League matches, and only returned to full training at Cobham last week.

The 26-year-old was surprisingly called up for Belgium's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece, which means he will join his national team despite Chelsea boss Antonio Conte's claims the former Lille man isn't ready for first-team action just yet.

Hazard had played a behind-closed-doors friendly match against QPR last week, and saw a penalty shout against the Toffees go ignored on Friday before being replaced by Jacob Maddox when his side were down 2-0 in the second half.

Everton went on to win the match 3-0, with a Joseph Colley first-half own goal and strikes from Beni Baningime and Oumar Niasse making the difference.
