John Terry given first Premier League start since September for Chelsea

John Terry will make his first Premier League start for Chelsea since Sept. 11 on Monday, as manager Antonio Conte made nine changes from the side that sealed the title on Friday.

Terry is leaving Chelsea at the end of the season after 22 years when his contract expires, but will get a sendoff at Stamford Bridge against Watford on Monday night.

The 36-year-old started the first four games of the season for Chelsea but has not been in the starting XI in the league since a 2-2 draw at Swansea in September.

He has gone on to make only three appearances as a late substitute, including twice recently on April 25 against Southampton as well as last Monday against Middlesbrough. Terry started three games in the FA Cup as well as one in the EFL Cup.

Terry will have two more opportunities to play in a Chelsea shirt as the Blues host Sunderland next Sunday, before the FA Cup final against Arsenal on May 27.

Only Eden Hazard and Cesar Azpilicueta players retained their spots in the XI from the team that beat West Brom on Friday to secure Chelsea's fifth Premier League title, while Nathan Chalobah and Kenedy come into the squad.

Striker Michy Batshauyi makes his first Premier League start after scoring the title-clinching goal on his 18th substitute appearance at West Brom.

Watford made three changes to the side which began last Friday's 1-0 loss at Everton, with Nordin Amrabat, Tom Cleverley and M'Baye Niang coming in.

Chelsea XI: Asmir Begovic; Kurt Zouma, John Terry, Nathan Ake; Cesar Azpilicueta, N'Golo Kante, Nathan Chalobah, Kenedy; Willian, Michy Batshuayi, Eden Hazard

Watford XI: Heurelho Gomes; Adrian Mariappa, Sebastian Prodl, Jose Holebas; Nordin Amrabat, Tom Cleverley, Valon Behrami, Andoulaye Doucoure, Daryl Janmaat; Etienne Capoue; M'baye Niang
