Kurt Zouma 'really focused on Chelsea' despite lack of playing time

Kurt Zouma has told beIN Sports that he will discuss his future with Antonio Conte at the end of the season, but remains focused on Chelsea and confident about his chances of breaking into the Premier League leaders' starting XI.

Zouma made 23 Premier League appearances, all but two of which were starts, for Chelsea last season before rupturing knee ligaments against Manchester United in February.

Since returning to fitness earlier this campaign, the former St Etienne defender has not made a top-flight start, making just four substitute appearances with Gary Cahill and David Luiz the first-choice centre-backs, but he is hopeful about breaking into the side.

"Of course that's my aim. I arrived here two-and-a-half years ago. I want to continue here, I'm very happy here," the 22-year-old, whose contract runs to 2019, said.

"It's true that I don't really focus on the future. I concentrate on the present with the squad. We have a quality squad, we get on very well, and we want to do great things.

"We'll see [about my future] at the end of the season. But I'm really focused on Chelsea. I'm confident, I know I'm going to play. I know that.

"No, we haven't talked about it. We're really focused on our season, which has been very good. Everything else we'll perhaps look at at the end of the season, but it's not on the agenda for the moment."
