Andreas Christensen can shine at Chelsea - Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard has backed teammate Andreas Christensen to make a big impact at Chelsea when he returns from his loan at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Christensen, a Danish centre-back, has flourished in a two-year stay with the Bundesliga club.

And Hazard is in no doubt that the 20-year-old can make the step up when he goes back to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

"When he arrived everybody in the team and at the club were saying: 'Wow, what a defender, what a player,'" he told Goal.

"He is strong, he is fast, he is intelligent and so he has helped us a lot and helped us get Champions League qualification.

"I think he has a great future and he can play at a top, top level at a top, top team. I am very confident about his future."

Hazard said it might not be so easy for Belgian compatriot Charly Musonda to break through, with Pedro and Willian fighting it out to play alongside his brother Eden behind Diego Costa.

"He decided to return to Chelsea [from his loan at Real Betis after a change of manager] and he decided to take a place in the squad, so I know Charly and I think he is a winner," he said.

"I think he knows also that there are very good players in his position, so he needs to fight very, very hard."
