Tammy Abraham focused on Bristol City success before Chelsea return

Tammy Abraham says he wants to return to Chelsea next summer as the Championship's top scorer and reveals that John Terry has been giving him valuable advice while on loan at Bristol City.

Sergio Aguero is the only man to score more goals in the top four divisions of English professional football this season than Abraham, who has netted 10 times in 13 appearances in all competitions for Bristol City since joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer.

Hopes are high at Stamford Bridge that Abraham -- who scored 74 goals in 98 games at youth level for Chelsea on the way to winning back-to-back UEFA Youth League titles and two FA Youth Cups -- can eventually break into the first team, but he insists he is focused on lighting up the Championship first.

"I want to fight for the playoffs," the 18-year-old told the Daily Mail. "It would be nice to be highest scorer in the Championship.

"Wherever it takes me, it takes me. If you are giving your all and it works out then yes, why not [break through at Chelsea]?"

Despite the sustained dominance of Chelsea's academy at youth level in recent years, Terry remains the last home-grown product to establish himself as a key member of the starting XI, though both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ola Aina have featured under Antonio Conte this season.

Terry takes a keen interest in the progress of Chelsea's youngsters, regularly watching youth matches at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, and Abraham says the Blues captain has offered him plenty of support and guidance this season.

"He was telling me what to expect, what defenders will do on and off the ball," Abraham added. "He congratulated me after my debut. I asked him about his loan at [Nottingham] Forest. He's told me to get that experience and enjoy it."
