Chelsea are playing boring football - former defender Franck Leboeuf

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has urged manager Antonio Conte to rethink his tactics, claiming the Blues are producing "boring" football.

Chelsea began the season with a hat trick of wins but have since drawn at Swansea and were beaten at home by Liverpool on Friday.

Leboeuf, who won two FA Cups and the 1998 European Cup Winners' Cup during five years at Stamford Bridge, said: "You get bored because it's always the same style of play.

"There is no acceleration, no surprise. Say what you like about Diego Costa, but the boy works. He's the one who scored [against Liverpool], and he created a second chance. The others didn't exist."

Leboeuf suggested Conte should alter the trio of attacking players he employs behind Costa in a bid to reinvigorate Chelsea's football.

"I think one of the three players can stay, but there has to be another formula so that this team can live, show something else," he said.
