Victor Moses hopes to seize Chelsea chance under Antonio Conte

Victor Moses is thoroughly enjoying preseason with Chelsea and sees it as an opportunity to grasp a place in the squad next season.

Moses has started both preseason fixtures so far in Austria under new manager Antonio Conte.

The Nigeria international has impressed with a series of powerful runs from out wide to beat his opponents, as well as some impressive deliveries in the Italian's 4-4-2 system.

Now the tour moves to the United States, the 25-year-old is seeing his early return to Cobham paying off.

"I came back to start my preseason early with the group of players who had been on loan last season," the former West Ham and Stoke loanee told Chelsea's official website. "I just want to enjoy my football.

"I want the fans to be able to recognise I am doing something good for the club but at the same time I want to work hard for the team and make sure we win games."

Moses' next opportunity comes on Thursday against Liverpool and he hopes to continue providing Chelsea with width and an ability to run at full-backs.

"That is my position really: staying out wide and most of the time going into one v one situations which I am good at," Moses said. It is similar to the kind of game I was playing at Wigan and I have really enjoyed the two games.

"As a winger, you want to get at defenders and make it hard for them. Instead of them going forwards, they have to defend against you."

Moses knows the hard work is not done yet as he was sent on loan to the Hammers on Sept. 1 last year, but he can sense this is his golden opportunity to make it at Stamford Bridge.

"I am lucky doing my preseason here," Moses said. "With a new manager I want to show my talent and that I am willing to play for the team."
