Chelsea midfielder Willian wants agreement over Brazil tournaments

Chelsea star Willian has told ESPN Brazil he hopes a way can be found for him to play for Brazil in both the Copa America and the Olympic Games this summer.

The club will hold talks with the Brazilian football federation and the player -- who has shone in a disappointing Blues season -- in the hope of reaching a compromise that will see him play in one of the tournaments.

Officials have previously voiced concern that playing in both events would deprive Willian of a full preseason programme under incoming manager Antonio Conte and result in him missing the first two Premier League games of next season.

The 27-year-old is under pressure to play in both tournaments but especially the Olympics, which Brazil are hosting and have never won.

"Everyone knows my desire to play in both championships," he said.

"But of course we do not want to fight and put Chelsea in a difficult situation, and I do not want to fight with the Brazil Football Confederation.

"I hope they and Chelsea enter into an agreement [about his release to play in the tournament]."
