The 21-year-old will also miss the European Championship to be played in his native France.

Chelsea, meanwhile, face a challenge to replace both him and John Terry for Sunday's FA Cup game against Manchester City.

January signing Matt Miazga could debut for Chelsea as Guus Hiddink has confirmed he plans to use a young lineup at Stamford Bridge.
