Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao promises 'strong' return from injury

Radamel Falcao has pledged to come back "strong" after taking part in his first Chelsea training session in more than a month on Tuesday.

Falcao, 29, who moved to Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan deal from Monaco last summer, has not featured for the Blues since picking up what manager Jose Mourinho described as "an important muscular injury" in training on Nov. 3.

On Tuesday, the Chelsea boss revealed that the Colombia international remains "a couple of weeks away from being ready" as he prepares for Wednesday's Champions League Group G decider with Porto at Stamford Bridge, although captain John Terry and midfielder Ramires are both available for selection after injuries.

Falcao has scored just one goal in 11 appearances in all competitions for the Blues this season, but took to Twitter and Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to reassure supporters that he will return to peak physical condition.

"I'm working hard and focusing on recovering," the striker posted on Instagram alongside a picture of him laughing with teammates during Tuesday's session. "For that reason, I was not using social media accounts for a month or more. I am very happy to train again with the team. I am sure I will back strong."
