Thibaut Courtois back for Chelsea in December, Jose Mourinho confirms

Thibaut Courtois will return to action for Chelsea from a knee injury some time in December, according to manager Jose Mourinho.

Courtois, 23, tore the meniscus in his right knee during a training session two months ago.

The Belgium international resumed training on Thursday and took to Twitter afterward to say his return is "coming closer."

But while Mourinho confirmed Courtois will be back in December -- as the goalkeeper had first targeted -- he was unable to give an exact date for his comeback.

"December. Between the first and the last day of December," Mourinho told a news conference.

"Things are going normal and the pictures that you have are not Photoshop. He's training with the team in some exercises.''

As well as Courtois, Chelsea will also be without Radamel Falcao for Saturday's Premier League game at home to Norwich.

The striker is nearing a return after picking up an undisclosed injury, but Mourinho again declined to say when he would be back.

Branislav Ivanovic, however, is expected to be available following the hamstring injury he sustained prior to the international break.
