Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho banned from driving for six months

LONDON -- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding.

The Portuguese coach pleaded guilty to the offence but was not present at the hearing at Staines Magistrates' Court in Surrey on Wednesday.

Mourinho was ordered to pay a £750 fine as well as a £75 surcharge and £85 court costs because of the incident in September last year.

The Daily Mirror reported that Mourinho was caught travelling at 60mph in a 50mph zone on the A3 Esher bypass, in Surrey.

Mourinho was disqualified as he already had nine penalty points on his licence from previous offences.
