Jose Mourinho: Chelsea are champions because we are a complete team

Jose Mourinho hailed his Chelsea side as a "complete team" as they celebrated their Premier League title triumph on Sunday, but is already dreaming of lifting the trophy again in 2025.

Chelsea recovered from Steven Fletcher's opener for Sunderland to win 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on the final day of the season, with an equaliser from Diego Costa and a brace from Loic Remy ensuring the champions ended the season on a high note.

Mourinho hit back at accusations earlier in the campaign that his side was "boring," and believes his team can go on to dominate for years to come.

"I think we have everything," he told BBC Sport. "Can anybody say we don't play fantastic football? No. Well, they can, but it's not true.

"We have art in our game but we also have fantastic spirit, organisation and pragmatism. We are a complete team and that is why we are champions.

"It was a bit of a risk to come here for a second time but with a new team [and] a new generation we are champions again, and as a Chelsea supporter I feel it a double way."

A number of players from Chelsea's title-winning side of the 2004-05 campaign -- Mourinho's first season in charge at Chelsea -- were paraded before kickoff while Didier Drogba also played his final game for the club, but the Portuguese coach admits he is already looking ahead to future titles.

"To have here today the champions of 2004-05 and 2014-15 is an amazing feeling because I belong to both, but the team of 2004 is over," he told the club's official website. "Only John [Terry] and Petr [Cech] remain, Didier finished today.

"I belong to both generations but I know that to be back for the end of my team was hard. To see Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Essien and Drogba leave is very hard for me, but my job is Chelsea's future and that's the team we have been working on in the last two years.

"It would be a dream to be here in 2025 and be with the champions of 2005, 2015 and 2025. The teams of 2004-05 and 2005-06, and also after that, were fantastic teams and players.

"This team is at the beginning -- they have won one Capital One Cup and one Premier League, they have to win more to be better than that. You can win something in a certain moment and that's it, or you can win on a regular basis, that's what makes the difference. Let's try to motivate them to do that."

Drogba -- captain for the day -- was carried off the pitch in celebration by his teammates as he was substituted in the first half, and Mourinho paid tribute to the 37-year-old striker, saying: "[The substitution] was because he had a problem with his knee -- in normal conditions he wouldn't play the game. He did because it was his last and he wanted to be on the pitch.

"It was John's desire to give him the armband and for the players to bring him from the pitch was up to them, they like him a lot. He was part of the other team but he is also part of the new Chelsea.

"He was very good for the young players like [Eden] Hazard, Willian and Oscar, they learn from good examples and he made a fantastic contribution for us this season."

Cech also started what could be his final game for the club after being ousted as No. 1 by Thibaut Courtois, by Mourinho reaffirmed his desire to keep the goalkeeper at the club, adding: "He's a legend of this club, a legend at 33 and for a keeper he is a young legend. One of our strengths this season was to have the two best goalkeepers in the league.

"When Thibaut was injured Petr made decisive saves in matches for us. I'm not sure if he wasn't here we would have been champions. We also have to be fair and not emotional in our analysis, and Thibaut is an amazing keeper and he had a fantastic season for us.

"We had a season where both were important. Thibaut played most of the games but Petr played lots of matches in all four competitins. We made him feel important. Arsenal at home, Leicester away, Everton at home, those three games were fundamental for the title."
