Jose Mourinho confirmed in the matchday programme that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will start for the first time in the Premier League against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Loftus-Cheek, 19, will fill the void left by the injured Oscar in midfield and will likely line up alongside Nemanja Matic.
The young Englishman made his Champions League debut as a substitute against Sporting Lisbon in December, before his Premier League debut as a substitute against Manchester City in January.
Elsewhere, Kurt Zouma replaces Gary Cahill and Loic Remy is fit to start up front in place of Didier Drogba.
