Boris Becker unaware 'Chelsea Headhunters' scarf had hooligan link

Former Wimbledon tennis champion Boris Becker has said that he does not support hooliganism and was not aware of the "Chelsea Headhunters" hooligan firm after being seen wearing one of their scarfs.

Becker, a Bayern Munich and Chelsea supporter, was at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as PSG knocked the Premier League leaders out of the Champions League.

The German, sitting in a VIP box with his wife, was pictured wearing a blue and white "Chelsea Headhunters" scarf, which also included a pair of skulls -- the hooligan firm's emblem.

"I wasn't aware of that. I own at least 10 scarfs and just grabbed one I bought at a stall outside the stadium a few years ago," Becker told Bild. "I am the last to support hooligans."

During the late-1990s, the "Chelsea Headhunters" -- a hooligan firm established in the 1960s as the "Chelsea Shed Boys" -- were infiltrated by investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre for a BBC documentary, in which he confirmed right-wing elements in the group.

Recent incidents have included clashes with a Cardiff firm in 2010, with 24 people convicted in 2011 of taking part in the violence.

Last season, the "Chelsea Headhunters" were also reportedly involved in scenes of violence in Paris ahead of the Champions League quarterfinal clash against PSG.
