De Bruyne unsure over Chelsea future

Chelsea loanee Kevin De Bruyne is unsure over his future at Stamford Bridge, but believes competing alongside club team-mate Eden Hazard for Belgium is proof he could cut it in the Premier League.

De Bruyne, 21, is currently on a season-long loan at Werder Bremen following his £6.7 million move to West London from Genk last year, and has yet to make an appearance in a Chelsea shirt.

However, the Belgium international is keen to kick-start his Blues career and is targeting a return to England once his loan spell comes to an end.

"I wanted to show everybody at Chelsea that I can play there," De Bruyne told Sky Sports News. "For the moment I don't know what Chelsea want to do with me, so it's difficult to say what's going to happen with me in the next year or so. I'll have to just wait.

"In the end I played like five or six different positions this year, I'm doing what I can. I try to play my best football, it's not always easy to change position but I think it's okay."

Belgium currently boast a selection of midfielders who ply their trade throughout the biggest leagues in world football, including De Bruyne's club counterpart Eden Hazard. And the on-loan midfielder insists that playing alongside such names at international level is comparable to being at Chelsea.

"I love to play with Eden, I know him already. A long time we played together in the youth national team at the same age," De Bruyne said. "International [football] is a very high level so I think you can compare it with Chelsea, because all the players in our national team also play in big clubs in England and all over the world. So you can compare it."

Asked if he still had ambitions to return to London, De Bruyne added: "Yeah, that's the reason that I signed."
