Dalman: I'm not leaving Cardiff

Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman has dismissed as "total nonsense" a report suggesting he is planning to step down from his role at the Welsh club.

The report claimed that Dalman could leave the Bluebirds to concentrate on other business commitments.

Dalman joined the club's board in January 2012 and became chairman 18 months later as Cardiff prepared for a first season in the Premier League.

A turbulent campaign ultimately saw the Bluebirds relegated back to the Championship, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Malky Mackay as manager midway through the season.

But in a statement published on the club's official website on Friday, Dalman said: "What nonsense. The article reporting on my future at Cardiff is total nonsense.

"I have no plan to go anywhere and will continue to play a role in the future of Cardiff City Football Club."
