Ilkay Gundogan escapes serious knee injury, Man City confirm

Leroy Sane scored on either end of a West Brom goal to lead Manchester City to victory in the Carabao Cup.
The guys respond to your tweets on Man City's UCL hopes, David Luiz's red card and the best players they played with and against.

BIRMINGHAM -- Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been cleared of serious injury following tests on his left knee.

The midfielder hurt his knee in the 2-1 League Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion, as the Germany international was making his first start for City since recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury that ruled him out for nine months.

Gundogan was caught by a challenge from behind from West Brom's Claudio Yacob in the 55th minute and he immediately signalled to the bench...

Mauricio Pochettino: Dele Alli gesture vs. Barnsley was a joke with a friend

Mauricio Pochettino elaborates on Dele Alli's gesture against Barnsley and looks ahead to Spurs' clash with West Ham.
The guys answer your tweets on Klopp's effectiveness, Wenger's dubious sale of the Ox, and Mourinho's managerial prowess.
Mauricio Pochettino emphasises that Tottenham's ambition is to try to win the Premier League or UCL, not domestic cups.

LONDON -- Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said Dele Alli's gesture after scoring against Barnsley in Tuesday's EFL Cup third round was a joke with a friend in the stands.

Alli, 21, appeared to cup his hands behind his ears when celebrating his 65th-minute winner in the 1-0 victory at Wembley, where the attendance was just 23,926 -- under one-third of the stadium's 90,000 capacity.

There had been speculation that the gesture was directed at the low crowd, the media or even Pochettino...

Manchester United's Anthony Martial will be 'a force' this season - Lingard

After their unbeaten start to the 2017/18 Premier League season, Stewart Robson explains why Manchester United are favourites for the title.
Manchester United open their Carabao Cup campaign in style with a 4-1 win over Burton Albion.

Anthony Martial has been backed to become "a force" by Manchester United teammate Jesse Lingard.

Martial's promising first season at Old Trafford was followed by a frustrating second campaign, with Jose Mourinho leaving him out of the squad at times.

But the 21-year-old took his tally for this season to four goals -- already halfway to his total last season -- as United beat Burton 4-1 in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Fellow goal scorer Lingard told MUTV: "When he is running at you, any defender...

Charly Musonda the latest Chelsea youth product aiming to buck a trend

Antonio Conte believes Charly Musonda is a promising young talent who could play in a range of positions for Chelsea.

Another season, another domestic cup tie, another opportunity for Chelsea's academy starlets to make a name for themselves at Stamford Bridge.

Blues boss Antonio Conte was always going to ring in the changes for the visit of Championship side Nottingham Forest. The early rounds of the League Cup are a perfect platform for younger players to impress and against Forest it was Charly Musonda who seized the chance afforded him by Conte.

Making his full debut at the Bridge, 20-year-old Musonda repaid...
