Benjamin Moukandjo: Cameroon captain joins Beijing Renhe

Benjamin Moukandjo has left Jiangsu Suning to sign for fellow Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe on loan for the rest of the season.

Renhe confirmed the deal on their official website on Wednesday, with the attacker set to wear the #38 shirt this season.

The Cameroon captain only joined Suning from FC Lorient in July 2017, and managed seven goals in 10 appearances in the CSL last term.

He enjoyed a mixed 2016-17 season, notably winning the African Cup of Nations as Indomitable Lions skipper.

However, while the 29-year-old scored 13 goals in each of his final two seasons in Ligue 1, he was unable to prevent Lorient from dropping into the second tier of French football.

Moukandjo previously featured with Rennes, AS Monaco, Nancy and Stade de Reims before signing for Lorient in 2015. He becomes Beijing's fourth and final foreign player, joining Argentine midfielder Augusto Fernandez, Brazil's Ivo, and Jaime Ayovi of Ecuador.

The forward also featured for Cameroon at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and in the Confederations Cup in Russia last summer.
