Rahimi gives Raja advantage in Confederation Cup final

Raja Casablanca striker Soufiane Rahimi scored twice as the Moroccan side seized control of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup final with a 3-0 first-leg win over 10-man AS Vita Club at the Stade Mohammed V on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Rahimi took his tally in the competition to four with a brace to settle home nerves, before this season's top scorer Mahmoud Benhalib converted a penalty after 66 minutes, his 12th goal of the campaign.

Vita Club, hoping for a hat-trick of titles for Democratic Republic of Congo sides after TP Mazembe won in the previous two years, were reduced to 10 men when defender Yannick Bangala's foul to concede the spot kick earned a second yellow card.

Raja comfortably saw out the rest of the game and travel to the second leg in Kinshasa next Sunday seeking to win a first continental title since they lifted the defunct CAF Cup in 2003.
