Burkina Faso dispatched Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in Limeil-Brevannes on Thursday, with Fiorentina midfielder Bryan Dabo marking his international debut for the Stallions with a win.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder represented France at youth level - featuring for the U-21 side in 2013 - but has opted for the Burkinabe despite being eligible for Mali through his mother.

He began his senior career with Montpellier, but secured a permanent move to Saint-Etienne in 2016 after a brief and unsuccessful loan spell with Blackburn Rovers.

The powerhouse signed for Fiorentina earlier this year, and made his debut for the Viola in their 1-1 draw at Atalanta last month.

Guinea-Bissau enjoyed the better of the contest during the early stages, but Paulo Duarte's side begun to demonstrate their superiority after the half-hour mark.

They took the lead in the 36th minute with Cyrille Bayala's fine effort, before talismanic Al-Mastry forward Aristide Bance added a second with a header before half time to secure a morale-boosting win for the West Africans.

Burkina Faso, bronze-medalists at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, have been pitted against Mauritania, Botswana and Angola in qualification for the 2019 edition.

Guinea-Bissau will have to see off two of Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia if they're to reach their second tournament, having made their AFCON bow in Gabon last year.

The Stallions will also meet Kosovo in an international friendly on Tuesday.
