Sources: Tim Sherwood under consideration for Brighton job

Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood is in the frame to replace under-fire Brighton boss Sami Hyypia, sources have told ESPN FC.

Hyypia, who took charge at Brighton in the summer, is under pressure after overseeing a disastrous run of form at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton have won just three of their 21 Championship games this season, and last Friday's home loss to Millwall was another damaging blow to his tenure.

Hyppia was given a vote of confidence last week, but it appears the Brighton board may need to turn to a new manger to turnaround their fortunes.

Tony Pulis and Steve Clarke are among those to be linked with Brighton, but sources told ESPN FC that Sherwood is thought to figure highly on Brighton's wanted list and the 45-year-old has admirers at the Amex Stadium.

Serwood has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham after leading them to a sixth-placed finish in the 2013-14 Premier League season.

The former Blackburn and Spurs midfielder has been linked with a number of jobs in recent months, but the chance to take over at Brighton would be an attractive proposal for Sherwood.
