Real Madrid's Julen Lopetegui refuses to commit to a No. 1 goalkeeper after Thibaut Courtois has yet to start.

Real Madrid's Brazilian teenager Vinicius Jr. is unlikely to return to Brazil in January, his agent said, despite swirling rumours in Spain that the 18-year-old might not get a first-team opportunity under new coach Julen Lopetegui.

Vinicius Jr. arrived in Madrid on a €45 million transfer from Flamengo during the summer and was sent to the reserves to get used to his new surroundings under coach Santiago Solari.

Juninho was in Sao Paulo to conclude the deal when the club issued the statement. He is accused of assaulting and threatening a former girlfriend last year, but denies the claims.

On Wednesday, the club fired Scolari's predecessor Roger Machado after a 1-0 defeat at Fluminense in the 15th round of the Brazilian championship.

The 69-year-old Scolari led Brazil to their record fifth...

Vinicius Jr. is due to link up with Madrid next month for preseason training, with FIFA rules having mandated that he waits until he turns 18 before finalising a €45 million transfer agreed last summer with Flamengo.

Rodrygo, meanwhile, agreed a €54m move from Santos for next summer, and Madrid president Florentino Perez remains keen on adding Neymar...
