Brazil's Neymar must show more maturity during games - Tite

Brazil manager Tite was pleased with Neymar's performance in the Selecao's 5-0 destruction of Bolivia on Thursday, but asked his star to show more maturity after the Barcelona man picked up an unnecessary yellow card in the win.

Neymar scored a goal and set up two more as Brazil impressively made it three wins from three games under the former Corinthians boss. However he was cautioned for dissent in the 36th minute, which will see him suspended for Brazil's World Cup qualifier against Venezuela on Tuesday.

Speaking after the match, Tite told reporters both he and Neymar will learn a lesson from the incident.

"There were mistakes from the referee, with an excess of fouls derived from a lack of punishment to them," Tite told a news conference.

"And we -- Neymar and me -- we need maturity to understand that we'll have to bear these kind of situations, too.

"What happens sometimes, and it did happen, regarding the card, was -- in the first place -- an excessive amount of fouls aimed to emotionally destabilise the squad, to provoke situations.

"You can say 'okay, the fouls are from the game and it's the referee's problem.' It's my responsibility as a manager to guide the player."

With his pending absence Tuesday in Venezuela, Neymar will have missed half of Brazil's qualifiers this cycle.

Tite wants his side to be "strong" without their influential star.

"The team must be strong without Neymar. It is inhumane to put everything on Neymar," Tite said.
