Corinthians' Tite: I don't want to succeed Dunga as Brazil coach

Corinthians manager Tite has said he would never negotiate to replace Dunga as Brazil coach, criticising the media for suggesting he take over.

The pressure on Dunga has intensified after last month's round of 2018 World Cup qualifying matches brought draws against Paraguay and Uruguay.

The Selecao are sixth in the CONMEBOL qualifying table, but 12 matches remain in which to avoid the threat of missing a World Cup for the first time in their history.

They are currently one place outside the playoff position and face the most intense stage of the qualification process later this year, with two rounds in September, two in October and two in November.

But Tite hit out at calls for him to succeed Dunga, telling ESPN Brazil: "I have spent 10 days talking about this. I have absolutely nothing more to say about it.

"The only thing I can say is that I am very happy at Corinthians."

Tite, 54, insisted he was thinking only of seeing Corinthians through the Copa Libertadores, in which they lead their group with 10 points.

"I have a lot of defects, many more than you can imagine, but I am proud of one virtue," he said after Sunday's 3-0 win over Novorizontino.

"Everything I do, I do with dignity. My dignity is not negotiable."
