Borussia Monchengladbach to invest €28 million into stadium - report

Borussia Monchengladbach are reportedly set to invest €28 million into infrastructure measures at the Borussia Park that include a hotel and a beer garden for 3,000 people.

Local paper Rheinische Post reported that Borussia Monchengladbach will invest in their stadium, which has been built far outside the city centre.

The Champions League club, who have returned to form under new boss Andre Schubert, are set to build a Borussia Monchengladbach-themed six-story hotel with 132 rooms next to the west stands, the paper reported.

The Foals are also set to expand their rehabilitation facilities, a new fan shop and a club museum, which both are set to be integrated in the ground floor of the new hotel building, according to the paper.

Inside the 54,010 capacity Borussia Park, the club hope to find space for 800 new VIP seats.

A new 3,000 capacity beer garden behind the north stands, a new street and new parking spaces round of the club's plans to improve the infrastructure around Borussia Park, which opened in 2004 and is also used for congresses as well as concerts.

The club are set to finance one-third of the total €28m costs from capital resources, Rheinische Post reported.
