Borussia Monchengladbach not afraid of Juventus task - Thorgan Hazard

Thorgan Hazard has said Borussia Monchengladbach no longer fear the prospect of facing Juventus in the Champions League.

Gladbach travel to the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday with last season's Serie A champions struggling to replicate the form that brought them both the title and a place in the Champions League final.

And Hazard told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "It's a very difficult game, and we were scared by the idea of facing them at first -- but considering how well we played against [Manchester] City, where we did not deserve to lose [in a 2-1 home defeat], we know we can hold our own even with Juve.

"Considering the standings in our group, this is a point of no return -- we have to win. These two games against the Bianconeri are decisive."

"After the start to the season we had, our fans deserve to have some satisfaction from the Champions League, where Gladbach have been absent for 37 years.

"It's not going to be easy because our group is difficult -- but we can do it. The Champions League gives prestige to the club and the players. We cannot fail."

Coach Andre Schubert echoed his theme, telling a news conference on Tuesday there was "no room for fear in football."

Gladbach underlined their recent return to form with a 5-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, a result that has lifted the expectations as they seek a first win in Europe's premier competition since 1978.

"I think we have a lot of self-confidence for tomorrow's game," Gladbach defender Oscar Wendt said.

"We'll give it our all to win. Of course Juventus reached the final last year and we're probably not favourites, but we showed against City that we can hold our own well at this level.

"We're not just going to defend and wait for a lucky chance -- we'll try to play good football like we have been doing lately. We'll be going all out, aggressively to try to win."

Only Bayern Munich have won a European game at the Juventus Stadium, but defender Tony Jantschke said: "We aren't travelling to Turin with our heads dropped."
