Borussia Monchengladbach's in-form midfielder Patrick Herrmann has signed a contract extension, tying him to the club until 2019 Herrmann, 24, has had an impressive season for the Foals, scoring 13 goals and setting up a further four in 37 games for Gladbach this season. The attacking midfielder's eight Bundesliga goals have been key with Gladbach scoring just 37 times in the top flight this term, though Lucien Favre's side sit third in the table. Herrmann, who has yet to win a cap for Germany, reportedly had a €20 million release clause in his old contract, which was valid until 2016. "We are delighted that we have been able to tie Patrick to us, and that he also wants to continue on the successful path we have taken together," sporting director Max Eberl told the club's official website. Herrmann, who was called up the Germany squad once in March 2013, said: "I take great pleasure in playing for Borussia. And I feel the trust of the club and those in charge. "We have great fans in a unique stadium. I just feel at home here. Those are the reasons to continue on my successful path, which should also see me back in the Germany team again." Gladbach last week confirmed that Hannover captain Lars Stindl will be joining them this summer. The 26-year-old midfielder is set to replace World Cup winner Christoph Kramer, 24, who will return to Bayer Leverkusen this summer following a two-year-loan at Borussia-Park. The Foals also signed Thorgan Hazard, 22, on a permanent deal from Chelsea earlier this year, although the Premier League leaders have a buy-back clause.
