Marco Reus could return from injury for Borussia Dortmund vs. Stuttgart

Marco Reus is back in training after missing Borussia Dortmund's humiliating 6-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Reus, 28, joined the rest of the squad for a 60-minute training session, with defender Omer Toprak and winger Andrej Yarmolenko also back after injury layoffs.

Dortmund will be looking for an immediate reaction to the humbling loss at Bayern, their biggest in the Bundesliga for 27 years, in Sunday's league match against VfB Stuttgart.

While Yarmolenko will not be available for that game, BVB coach Peter Stoger has not given up hope that Reus and Toprak can return.

"We'll have to wait and see, but it would be good to have them back as options," Stoger told reporters following the training session.

Having only returned from a major knee injury in February, Reus has been a key player for Dortmund, scoring three goals in five Bundesliga matches. But he was forced off at half-time in the second leg of the Europa League draw at FC Salzburg before the international break.

Despite the 6-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena, Dortmund remain third in the Bundesliga and are still favourites to return to the Champions League next season.

"I still believe we can do it," Stoger said. "The match was anything but pleasant. But I never included three points at Bayern in our planning on how to reach the Champions League.

"There are not many things you could highlight as positive after such a match. Everyone could see that. And you can imagine that includes players, coach and journalists. We must make sure we fix that until the weekend."
