Christian Pulisic winner vs. Hoffenheim named Bundesliga Goal of the Month

Christian Pulisic has won the Bundesliga's Goal of the Month award for his 89th-minute winner in a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Dec. 16.

The United States international ran onto a Shinji Kagawa through ball, flicked the ball around goalkeeper Oliver Baumann and tapped it in as Dortmund prevailed in their second straight game under new coach Peter Stoger.

Pulisic's effort beat those by Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman, Hoffenheim's Serge Gnabry and Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt in the month of December.

The goal marked the latest by a U.S. international to provide a lead in the Bundesliga.

"Shinji played the ball through and I was slightly too close to the goalkeeper, so I had to take a touch to carry it past him," Pulisic told Dortmund's website after the match.

"The rest was easy. It's a great feeling."

On the season, the 19-year-old has scored three goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances, while also contributing one assist.

The goal came two days after Pulisic became the youngest-ever to be voted U.S. Soccer's Male Player of the Year.
