Borussia Dortmund to face Urawa Reds, Milan on preseason tour of Asia

Borussia Dortmund have announced they will face J League side Urawa Reds and AC Milan during a week-long preseason tour of Asia.

Dortmund, for whom it will be a third consecutive summer tour of Asia, will take part in the J. League International Series where they will meet Urawa Reds on July 15 before travelling to China to play AC Milan in the International Champions Cup in Guangzhou.

"We are happy to be guests in Asia again this year. We look back on our past visits with fond memories," BVB's marketing director Carsten Cramer said on the club's official website.

He added that Dortmund's aim is to excite "many real true and extremely loyal BVB fans in Japan and also in China" with the team's performances "and also with the appearances of our players."

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said: "The fact that the J. League and the organisers of the ICC have chosen us for their events shows the high standing BVB has achieved throughout the world of sports in the past few years."

Dortmund, who reached the final of the DFB Pokal thanks to a 3-2 victory against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, have already confirmed plans to tour the United States in the summer of 2018.
